Premium Cigar Haze?

Our last post attempted to shine some light on possible health impacts (positive and negative) from premium cigar smoking. Even that, though, wasn't really a deep dive! The WHO still does not differentiate between types of tobacco use. Despite declining rates of all types of tobacco use, the FDA and CDC continue to seek increased budgets for regulation and enforcement. Despite statistical data and legal rulings to the contrary, the FDA and DoJ insist that premium cigars are socially and scientifically the same as cigarettes.

Then there is the media in general! One might believe that cancer is still the leading cause of death in the United States (heart disease). One might even believe that lung cancer is the most common form of cancer. Women are far more likely to get breast cancer and men prostate cancer. In fact, colorectal cancer has become "the number one cause of cancer-related deaths for men below 50." There really is plenty to learn!

This is why we encourage you to join Cigar Rights of America - and get the 10% discount you'll receive at Bailey's. It is part of the reason why Bailey's is a member of both CRA and the Premium Cigar Association (PCA). These are two of the organizations leading the fight against government overreach! Here are two articles to add to your reading list - one from each group:

  • PCA - Supreme Court Decision Checks Potential FDA Overreach

  • CRA - The Mehta Decision

We want to remind you that the FDA appealed Judge Mehta's ruling. Arguments in that appeal will be heard September 13th. Maybe get some reading done before then...
